Indonesian’s Breakfast You Should Try

For most people Indonesian’s breakfast are too heavy to eat in the morning. But once you here, you should try it. Try to be like local πŸ™‚

Nasi Goreng.

This is the most favorite dish for foreigners. They always said that nasi goreng is delicious. I know one of delicious nasi goreng, that is in Majapahit Hotel, Surabaya. Trust me, this is even the best! It sounds too much carbo for breakfast but it is worth to try πŸ™‚

Mi Goreng.

Mi Goreng is nasi goreng best friend. It seems like soulmate. Most of Indonesian even mix them into Nasi goreng mawut (means : mixed nasi goreng with mi goreng). Too much carbo? Of course haha. But for me, mi goreng is lighter than nasi goreng.

Pecel.

Pecel is definitely good for breakfast. Different from nasi goreng, pecel has more veggies with peanut sauce. It is like Indonesian’s salad. You can just eat it with or without rice. It is up to you, but usually adding little bit of rice will make it perfect. Don’t forget the peyek (peanut cracker) to make it better πŸ™‚

Bubur Ayam.

I personally don’t really like this chicken porridge but sometimes I miss to eat it. Well I mean I eat it only max 10 spoons lol. My family usually eat it during weekend or lazy day that you don’t need to wake up too early to prepare breakfast lol. This is the lightest from above breakfast options. With topping of nuts, chicken fillet, and krupuk. Sometimes you add quail’s egg satay or chicken egg πŸ™‚

So… have you tried any of these when you are here? You better try it πŸ™‚
